The Kearney Youth Leadership 30 class began their Beyond Small Business day at Cash-Wa on
Wednesday, April 20, 2024.
There, they received a tour and learned about Kearney’s main distributor of goods, as well as
learned about all of Cash-Wa’s other institutions in 13 other states.
The class traveled to Builders Warehouse and learned about their success story in a wonderful
presentation done by Stacy Bivona. They were given a tour through the Design Center and
learned what aspects are part of designing a house.
The class then met with five different small businesses including: Trius Federal Credit Union, Hello Beautiful Bridal & Formal Wear, Wilkins ADP, SmallCakes Cupcakery, and 24 Hour Tees. The class participated in an entrepreneurial session, learning more about how to navigate the business world.
Next, the class traveled to Steinbrinks Landscaping. Owner, Rocky Steinbrink shared his story and provided a tour of the facility.
They ended their day traveling to Beebout Veterinary Medical Center where they met doctors Pao and Brandon Beebout while touring their new facility, and met a few long-tailed friends along the way.
